Question:

How do I download, install and use Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) for Mac OS 10.8 / 10.9 / 10.10 / 10.11 / 10.12 or Windows 7 / 8 / 10 to scan or search for or remove viruses?

Answer:

Please be aware that by responding to changes in licensing and advancements in antivirus technology, Virginia Tech limits downloads of the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) software package installer to active Virginia Tech faculty, staff, undergraduate sophomore, juniors, and senior students, and graduate students. But the download of the installer is not available to incoming freshmen.
Additionally, at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year (June 30, 2018), all students must uninstall all Symantec software obtained from Virginia Tech. This does not include trial versions or software purchased from a third-party.
For more information and recommendations of third-party antivirus programs, see Antivirus Options for First Year Students.
